Nature at its best is shown with the color and mottled pattern that is accentuated and brought to life with this Martin House gourd. The lizards are stylized with pyroengrave lines and dyed with various colors of leather dye. Along with the the coloring surface thee edges are burned with a wood burning tool. On the top and hanging on with curiosity is a hand crafted lizard made of a two part epoxy with a copper wire armature inside. The epoxy material is fashioned to the shape of the lizard and textured to show the skin. This has to set over night and hardened. Next comes the trimming and sanding to the desired shape. After all is correct then the painting begins. The desired look was to create a lizard that took on the look of the gourd. When everything is created a layer of urethane is added to protect the surface and give the gourd durability. Please enjoy the friends and what they communicate.
